National History Day California
National History Day is one of a type of nationwide academic competition that concentrates on pupils, especially within the grades of 6 to 12 and offers them a an opportunity to learn about history. Everything began being a small competition in 1974 in Cleveland. The key notion of National History Day was developed by all of the people in the team of history at Case Western Reserve University to match up the very thought of Science Fair.
Within the coming years, National History Day spread to other regions like Midwestern states and by 1980, it has evolved into a national organization. It was in 1992, that the competition transferred its headquarters from Cleveland to Washington,D.C .
The National History Day California is an educational program that continues for one year and motivates students to get familiar with history on all the levels- local, state, national as well as the world. Students taking part in National History Day California are usually asked to take up a historical topic which will connect together with the annual concept of the program and for this; pupils need to do lots of exploration using libraries, galleries, archives and also by executing several oral history interviews. Pupils then needed to access their analysis to get to findings and hence, produce the final project on their own respective subject. These finished assignments are then subjected to enter a series of competition, from local to the national level in the history day program. A group of specialist educators and historians conduct these assignments done by pupils.
