Next would be the Canopy Layer which is the principal layer of the forest which is often regarded as the top for the next two layers- Understory Layer and also the Forest Floor. The Understory Layer includes plants which don't grow more than 12 feet and houses animals and insects. However, the Forest Floor is extremely dark as a result of absence of the sun's rays that hardly reaches the layer.

It's estimated that 1/10th of mammal species and 1/5th of birds and plant species are housed in this rainforest. Above all, the Amazon rainforest is known as the Earth’s lungs because of it produces much more than 20%of Earth’s oxygen that's way more than any single source, hence, the crucial supply of air that people breathe.
