People who know about the community of auto racing will let you know that the 24 Hours of Le Mans could possibly be the greatest test of both man and machine. In mid June the 80th hosting of the world popular race presented to be simply that for the Level 5 Motorsports power team. After battling so hard to make it as far as 5th place in the P2 class standings their #33 HPD-ARX03b was retired after suffering fuel pressure dilemmas not long after sunrise 18 hours in the 24 hour race.

In 2011, the Level 5 Motorsports crew produced a eye-catching debut at Le Mans acquiring a podium end, but unfortunately good fortune was not with their side this season as they aimed to make improvements to last year's notable 3rd place in finish in the P2 class. The fuel pressure challenge of which in the end terminated their race wasn't helped by a radio failure which in turn meant Scott Tucker was not able to get in touch with the engineering crew within the pit lane to share with them of the issue which was building.

The frustration of not bettering last year's finish suggests the Level 5 drivers, Scott Tucker, Christophe Bouchut and Luis Diaz will see the 2013 Le Mans race as unfinished business. Auto racing might be a unkind sports activity at the best of times but completing 18 of the 24 scheduled hours of the physically and mentally strenuous race will certainly hold the Level 5 team in great stead for a repeat attack next year. The all round winners of the this year's race was the AudiSport Joest team that had been operated by Marcel Fässler, Benoît Tréluyer, and André Lotterer. Their P1 Audi R18 won the race for the second straight year. Check out more about Scott Tucker
