Do Animal's Spirits Stay Behind
Animals for many people hold a special place in our lives and hearts. This was the situation for the dog, Crystal, who unfortunately passed on Monday, May 3rd 2010. She had created a cancerous tumor in her own mouth in September of 2009. Since September, my loved ones and that i knew that we could be confronted with needing to make the decision to put her to rest. A few days before, we felt that it was the very best decision to make. She had been full of energy up until Monday, but we were concerned that the tumor may spread into the back of her throat, reducing vital oxygen. Afterwards, I used to be sitting with my Mom, and she or he asked me "Do you believe a part of her will remain?" meaning her spirit. I immediately answered without hesitation "Yes. I do."
I understand that every animal lover who believes within the existence of spirits will agree with me. Animals develop their very own personality, and be part of the family. The typical scene in movies and commercials from the loyal dog waiting patiently in the door for you to get home, traveling in the passenger seat of the car or truck with their head in the wind, and coming in your room in the morning to wake you up may all be cliche, but they're all true.
Crystal developed her own personality, and her unique habits. She always laid in our yard on sunny days, making it her passion to chase the cat next door when he strayed into our yard. My dad couldn't go for a drive anywhere without Crystal bounding up the stairs blocking the door until he grabbed her leash. Despite the fact that she might not physically be here anymore, I know that her spirit will visit whenever the neighbors cat is in the backyard, when my dad goes for a drive, in order to lay in our yard on sunny days. Even speaking with our animals which have passed on can bring their spirit closer to us.
One of the most common a few things i often hear others say about losing an animal, is "It requires a while to obtain used to them not there. You walk in thinking they'll be there, and then you realize that it really happened. They are not there anymore." I finally understood what others had meant by that Tuesday morning. I expected to see Crystal laying within our yard under the sun. I started to think, "What if she is really there, and I am sensing her." Honestly, In my opinion that is what it had been. I had been sensing her. You would have it crazy in my experience that they would not visit us.
When others believe they expect their pets to become there, I'd be prepared to bet their animal is still there watching over them, ensuring their loved ones is ok. When they know their family is ok, I believe they move ahead. This is actually the time when I believe families adjust to and fully realize the fact their animal has passed on, since their spirit isn't there as frequently anymore given that they know their family is okay. However, they'll always visit time to time to express hi and sit in their favorite spots.
