Y'all need to comprehend that we are not and emotional person on the subject of books. No, I promise I'm not really heartless, I just now don't cry easily. Yes, during books my pulse rate accelerates and I'll shame the characters, however don't actually cry. This can be on the list of only books where We've come this near tears. And thats saying something.
To start with I am into all the emotional part of this book, I would like to first talk about the characters.
Katniss is fantastic. She's incredibly strong and fierce. Now, that's my personal favorite form of heroine we understand that sometimes these kinds begin to blend together but something I really like about her is the fact although she could be this stuff like a lot of other heroines around, she's accomplishment lovable and witty like others. She's standoffish and also a loner plus it has a very long time for someone to obtain by means of her. She's mature beyond her years because she's being. She had become the sole supporter of her family at this sort of early age and yes it hardened her. She's a survivor. But sometimes this hard exterior became her downfall because she couldn't always see what's at the front of her: the truth that people cherish her. However, although its challenging to get past her hardened exterior, when you finally do, she actually is a really kind and admirable person. This is particularly shown through her actions for the reaping. She cared so much for her family that they was willing to risk her life, knowing that her chances for returning were slim, simply to keep her sister safe. If it is really not worth respect, next, i do not know what's.
Peeta is a great character. He's essentially the full opposite of Katniss. He's personable, caring, and charming. He truly cares about Katniss whether or not she can't visualize it herself. Even when you aren't getting to find out to much about him because this is from Katniss' perspective, you are able to still notice that he has admirable qualities too. Normally I prefer the alpha male along with the bad-boy (I reckon that its kinda my weakness) even so do also fall for the sweet, respectful guys and i also fell head-over-heels for his heart.
In terms of secondary characters? Amazing. Each was unique in their own individual way. Effie, sweetly oblivious Effie. Haymitch, who may drink a bit to much, but carries a heart under that surly exterior. Cinna, who truly cares about Katniss although he hardly knows her. The other tributes each had his or her personalities that made them unique (Don't even get me started on Rue!).
This book was just so incredibly emotional. 24 kids enter an arena in support of 1 happens. I honestly can't even imagine when i was in their situation. I'm sure that we would do whatever it accepted survive, but wait, how would that change me? Each tribute was only wanting to survive. They didn't wish to be there (well, except several), but were required to be. If your facing your immediate death, how would you act? Survival changes people. These different reactions thus to their situations were shown remarkably well through all of the different tributes. Collins' does a wonderful jobs of showing how different people would fare in this situation. While the many bloodshed in the arena is disturbing, perhaps the most annoying thing for me personally was the reality that individuals in the Capitol enjoyed it. Children were dying and to them it absolutely was just entertainment. These folks were completely oblivious!! It absolutely was all a game for many years. As long as these were entertained, these folks were happy. That it was sick. Completely and utterly sick.
As well as tell the truth, I felt awful for that other tributes, even as they tried to kill Katniss and Peeta. How would you not? We were holding thrown in a situation most of them weren't ready for and merely hoping to get home. Even though they were her enemies, I felt pity and guilt right in conjunction with Katniss. She, too, knows that these people were only doing the things they was required to accomplish like she was.
The Hunger Games may be a dark book about death and destruction, but within its dark exterior is really a beautiful story stuffed with survival, hope and fighting for you like.
